Finally painted and hung up my window box I built two years ago. Apparently, I enjoy half finished projects laying all over the place

My husband and I built a chicken fort out of hay, complete with built in nest boxes. And they use them! Secret new entrance to the coop at ground level about 4 bales in from the right.

And this little cockerel found a new place to roost. :D
The chicken fort is a good idea!

Gosh Meg, it's been a while. Busy huh? Good to see you again. Sorry about the smoke. I noticed I had a red and obscured sunset a couple of days ago here in Texas. May have been dust. I don't know if the smoke has made it this far.
Howdy, Pert! Great to see you, as well. It's been busy, yes, but I've hiding out burying my head in the sand and trying not to think about all of the things going on in this world. Not to mention some health issues I've come up with. I'm sorry to have abandoned everyone...I'll always be back.

The smoke does make for a pretty sun, doesn't it?? My friend sent me a picture this morning of our rig with the sun behind it and turkeys way up high on the mast. I'll have to share it, it's pretty neat.
I actually got a whiff of that fresh hay. Memory is an amazing thing.
Memory certainly is powerful. I do love the smell of fresh hay :D

We did not get to 27F all of last winter!
Awe, you're a lucky duck, Ron! It'll get much worse here haha. How are you doing? Are you getting burned out down there?

@Meg-in-MT Loved the photos sorry the snow started so soon
Hey, Penny! Nice to see you. Luckily it didn't stick around. Headed for 85° today. Might not make it because of the smoke, but still warm.

Today the air quality is better. We are not close to the big fire but the smoke has been terrible!

Hi @Meg-in-MT !! Long time no see. Great to have you back!
I love your pictures. That's some damn good looking hay!
So great to see you, Tonya! Glad to be back. I'm over being a hermit :p:fl
My husband takes a lot of care in putting up good hay. Momma's will be happy this winter when they have plenty of alfalfa to munch on.

How are you doing, lady?
