Thanks, Perris!good evening Cafe; there's some tea here for any who'd like it.
Love your pictures @Meg-in-MT !
The housemartins left yesterday, so I guess summer's over here. But some peace and quiet has returned to the bedroom, so that's fine! The leaves have been turning for a while now, and the apples are ripening. The last clutch is two weeks old tomorrow, so hopefully they will be fully feathered out before the first frosts here.
Gosh Meg, it's been a while. Busy huh? Good to see you again. Sorry about the smoke. I noticed I had a red and obscured sunset a couple of days ago here in Texas. May have been dust. I don't know if the smoke has made it this far.Good morning, cafe! Thanks for the coffee, Sour.
Well, we got our first snow on Labor day! Temperature dipped to 27°F (-3°C) that night. It has warmed back up during the day, but cools off quickly after the sun starts to set. Now we are completely socked in with smoke. Thought we may get away without it this year...
I hope you all are doing well. My catch-up attempt might be futile, so I thought I'd pop in. I'll share some photos here in a few.
I actually got a whiff of that fresh hay. Memory is an amazing thing.View attachment 2334761

Finally painted and hung up my window box I built two years ago. Apparently, I enjoy half finished projects laying all over the place

My husband and I built a chicken fort out of hay, complete with built in nest boxes. And they use them! Secret new entrance to the coop at ground level about 4 bales in from the right.
