BYC Café

That would suck as I bought these latches for just over $90 a door about 2 years ago.
I only install lever latches, "future proofing" the house for old age and lack of grip. But I don't have a dog to break out.

at Aldi for the next person who may need a cart but doesn't have a quarter.
I've never seen a coin lockup at the grocery store, only at the airport.

Weird Even Costco has cart corals where you put them people do not leave them all over there different metality there as they leave them even take them to different stores at the wally and fredies close by
Sadly it doesn't seem to matter how many "cart corrals" they put up, some lazy ass people still leave carts it the parking space next to them ... even when the corral is only a couple of spaces over.

I do not know about Aldi, but our local Walmart neighborhood store moved all of their gluten free products to a gluten free section. Maybe Aldi's did too?
My fav Family owned market moved all the GF stuff into the aisles with "like products", same as many of the bigger stores. Really sucks for people who need to find the GF products.

HA!!
Mine get freaked with the first load then clamor around the following loads.
You should have seen my nutball hens being terrified when I was making trip after trip with the garden cart cleaning out the coop a couple of weeks ago.

Brecon & Laugharne were 13 weeks old on Weds, and the following day Maria (their broody) started roosting apart from them. It seems all 3 were ready for the separation, as there's been no angst or other issues from the pullets and no aggression from the ex-broody, which is terrific. However, it appears the youngsters slept in the trees last night! I didn't notice they were missing when I shut up, as every night at the moment I have to play hide and seek with Harlech, who is turning into a pro tree hugger - and I focused only on finding her and getting her in :thSo it was a shock to be greeted by B&L when I opened the back door this morning to open the coops and take them breakfast
I wonder where they were... 🤔 need to be more on the ball this evening!

This is why I always do head count. Only twice was the missing bird out of the coop.
Once, the missing cockerel was on the roof of the run.
Once, a different missing cockerel was dead in the run.
The other times I couldn't find youngsters one had flown up onto the top plate in the coop and the other time one had tucked herself down at the far end of the nest box perch under a curtain.
I'm glad I don't have tree huggers.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
It's another chilly morning here but no frost. Should be a bit warmer. I didn't get nearly as much done yesterday as I'd planned. I came in around 5 and passed out on the couch until 7:30. I guess I needed the sleep.
Today I want to get the new perch in the run and clean out the coop storage room,
process the pallet scrap and remove the rest of the things I have stored in there,
clean out a good portion of the garage,
mow the lawn and start stripping the shingles off the roof.

So glad to see I'm not the only one doing head counts.. I count every single time I go out to the runs... No tree huggers here, nor hidey holes for them to get into.. Always look to see if all 4 of Henri's gals are out.. Millie got to where she didn't come out of the 'chateau' when Bruiser was boss of that run.. but he's gone and Henri is now 'da guy'. A little squabbling amongst the hens, but I'm sure it will calm down.
Thanks for the coffee, DL. I'm 5 for 5 this morning. All 5 of my eggs hatched and I'm singing the 'momma hatched her eggs song'.. Gotta make something special for breakfast. Belgium Waffles with pecans maybe?

Coming soon, but here's the first of Charlie and Henrietta's eggs that hatched. All of them are pretty much the same.

The first one to hatch was Bruiser and Maggie's replacement egg (one of the first batch didn't make it) And is a sibbling to this 3 week old.
