The RA has caused bursitis or tendonitis in both shoulders. As tight as the muscle/tendon/what-have you's have been it knocked my shoulders out of whack as well? They still hurt, but I can move them better.
I didn't know (or maybe didn't remember) that you have RA :hugs DW does as well. She was on Enbrel for a number of years and is now on Humira. Still lots of stiffness, every other week trip to the massage therapist helps.

But what are the legal requirements and penalties for not wearing a mask? There are none in my state even though mask wearing in any building open to the public is mandatory (no penalties, people are supposed to do the "right thing"). Shy of having armed guards at the door of every establishment, what can be done? People have been attacked by non mask wearers when challenged. I'm sure it is rare but there are a lot of people in this country that think a mask requirement is taking away their freedoms. And yes they DO wear clothes, including shirt and shoes, in public. Must be that requirement isn't an affront to their freedoms.

No sunny here! We are supposed to get to 40°F tomorrow but Mr. NOAA is generally 5°F optimistic for where we live so we probably won't see above 35°F
I read a couple of articles about fines being applied in Australia. Here county Sheriff's say they will refuse to enforce mask and other rules.

Australia has not had a case of covid in more than 70 days. We had over 3,000 people die of covid yesterday

Thank you, Perris! That's very nice of you. American buttercream is hard, for me at least, to get a smooth and flat surface on. Great for piping, though, as long as it isn't too warm. I will try Swiss or Italian merengue buttercream on the next one.
Buttercream frosting needs to be well creamed and then the correct amount of milk added to make it smooth.

My kitchenaid mixer works well for this!

Thanks, Bruce :hugs I've been on hydroxychloriquine for 4 months, but it isn't helping. Sounds like you just keep trying medications until something works and cross your fingers that it doesn't stop working. If I double up on the Meloxicam then I feel better, but my pharmacist (and family friend) was like "Dude, you need to ease up on those or you'll end up with an ulcer." Kind of in limbo for the moment until I get insurance. What a racket that is :rant

That's good to know about the massage helping her. I need to get over the "no touchy" thing and try it :p

Good afternoon Cafe. Thanks for the coffee Tonya ☕

yes; it's really quite powerful now 🙃 I'm trying Calvados in it for the first time this year; I usually use sherry or Kirsch, but I thought this would probably work well with all the fruit too. We'll know soon!
Ooh I saw Kirsch in a black forest cake video on YouTube yesterday. It looked delish! I had never heard of it before. I also never know what a Christmas cake was until you guys were talking about it couple weeks ago. It sounds interesting! You'll have to share how it turns out for you.

Yep, that's what I use. I can get it sort of smooth, but there is always air bubbles in it  But the air is what lightens it up, so I'm not really sure how you combat that. I've seen people just paper towels to smooth and that works fairly well, at long as you've got no crust on the buttercream. I want to try the merengue buttercreams because they are not only smoother, but very light or white in color. Loads easier to color correctly.

It sounds good!

I like pudding frostings but they are not good for making decorations

Yep, try it, see if it works. They tried all the "usual" stuff on DW, she's had RA for over 20 years. She was on hydroxy but stopped that some time ago. She's still on Folic Acid and Methotrexate (which we just call meth but we know it isn't THAT kind of meth!!). They check her liver function routinely. Her RA doc has suggested that new hips are likely in her future in any case.

Definitely need insurance!! Enbrel was basically $30K a year a few years ago (now according to a Google search is $65K!!!!!! with GoodRx coupon), Humira with GoodRx coupon is $66K/year. We are seriously in need of a generic version of those things but the companies play the patent game to keep that from happening! Or move to Canada, a Canadian pharmacy site says Humira is $22K/year. We in the USA are STILL getting seriously screwed on pharmaceuticals.

"touchy" feels good!! Unless one has "conditions" that make touching an uncomfortable thing.

I'm sorry to hear that, LaFleche! How you feel physically sure makes a difference in your overall wellbeing. Is there any end in sight on those lockdowns?
As the case numbers sadly are still skyrocketing, our government has just announced that they decided on an even harder lock down, closing down schools, all kinds of stores and enterprises etc. . Starting next week until January 10, 2021, with option to prolong if need be.
