Good evening Cafe,
No snow here but it's been pissing down with rain all day.

Trying to get stocks in before the inevtiable massive lockdown that will happen here after Christmas. If you think Covid figures are bad now, I think after Christmas is going to make March and April of this year look like a practice run.

A man was stuck in his car under a 4' pile of snow when he ran his car off the road and the plow went by and buried him yesterday. He kept calling 911 trying to get help. He was in the car for 10 hours before a State Trooper finally found him and dug him out. The man is in the hospital now recovering from hypothermia and frost bite.

He can be thankful then they did find him

Here social bubbles are limited to 2 households, all non-essential shops must close after trading on Christmas eve, all restaurants close after 6pm on Christmas day, and then from 28th to 2nd Jan even the essentials shops must be shut by 8pm... It's going to be a quiet Christmas and online only Jan sales spree here.

Yeah, they've announced the details. Not enough people are going to pay much attention to them to prevent a post Christmas surge in infection.

Two points worth noting.
Many people here meet up for Christmas at their local bar. It's normally a very busy period. With the opening restrictions all that will happen is instead of having people come and go throughout the day, they will get a rush of people tryinng to fit into the time slots.

This one cracks me up.

"Religious ceremonies. Including weddings or funerals, they have a 30% capacity limit with a maximum of 1,000 people, as long as there is sufficient ventilation and access is controlled, otherwise, the capacity remains at 500."

So you can have six people you know in an area you can at least have some control over, your home, but one thousand people are going to be packed into churches, singing and hugging etc etc.
I'm getting tired of peoples religious freedoms killing people.
