BYC Café

We have our chicks finally showing up today. The mail lady called and asked if we wanted her to bring them. Good thing she owns chickens and has bought some eggs from us when she couldn't supply enough for her regulars.
I pushed a bobcat off the property yesterday and made sure it went off over the hill but I am sure it will be back
They can cover a pretty big spread. We had one last year kill a bunch of chickens. Hence todays order. I seen one in the drive way camera in Jan so I tried to trap it in the back yard. I caught it on the game camera but that was it. I've never actually seen it in person, so if you did it's probably around a lot.

I did some trapping research in Feb, to bad that's also the end of trapping season. Next winter I'm going to go hard core. We had our big RIR roo took out of the yard at the side walk in front of the house at 7ish in the morning. After DW let the chickens out she brought the dogs in to feed them then and that is when swooped in.

Good morning, Cafe. Thanks for the coffee!

Happy to hear there's been minimal reaction with the shot. DL. Hopefully much of the same on the second round.

Glad you got the bobcat chased off, Margie! Maybe he was just passing through this time. Fingers crossed your presence is enough to keep him from coming back for the bunnies :fl

Went this morning to Morton 10 miles down the road.
Bought 9 blue and olive layers pullets all of them
