Yeah, I know, problem is the heat and not having good shade to keep her in.
So I hesitate to go there yet.

Tossed her out of nest twice, 3rd time she went in crate in run under only shade cloth.
What a PITA.

All installed. Woulda gone faster if driver battery hadn't died.
Think the battery is at the end of it's life, 10yo(I think).
Wish I could buy a replacement battery and/or driver exactly the same,
but it doesn't work like that.

Watching some starlings try to find a nest site under the coop shed eaves, ha!
Can also hear them trying to use the kitchen hood vent.
DamnBirds!

Sorry!! thought aart was short for Arthur!
barn swallows are always trying to nest in the darndest places and have to be removed

Morning Cafe, Second cup here first day did not drizzle in a week ..
Sometimes it is tough to suppose male to female here allot of us are ladies but then

Fan cooled coop from 90 to 81 in ~2 hours.
Broody crate can stay in coop until Monday afternoon.
She's got it bad, I closed off nests and she just stood in the coop tickticktickticking.
Next is to see if chicks will come into coop tonight with fan running right over their roost.

My fan blows cool(er) air in from outside the east side of coop.

Ya it sits in open door so pulls the air.. One up in banty is up. The door during the day is half wood bottom with hardware cloth top so blows from the top

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee, Sour.

I could not believe how much the grass grew in the one week we were gone. I had finally gotten to cut it the day before we left. I should have shot it into rifts and baled it, it was so long.
It looked about the same when we got home!
I went out to lock up the flock at 8:40 then hopped on the tractor and mowed the pen with the headlights. I just kept going and mowed the whole yard in the dark. It looks surprisingly good this morning. I just have to hit a few spots I wouldn't do in the dark, hit everything with the string trimmer and a few small areas with the push mower.
I want to plant my veggie garden and mulch between the raised beds. And if I'm going to the nursery for bedding plants, I'm going to get this years annual flowers and plant those too. Right back to the races I go...
