BYC Café

Neat idea. I have to try that with the huge clump that's in the chickens pen.
This clump is huge too, 18-24" dia, have to do it in 2 sections.
Start the strap around the bottom, then slide it up almost halfway and tighten as needed while cutting near bottom with electric hedge trimmers.

Just came back from running the dogs. Look at this:

I will!

My father planted 10,000 bulbs one fall back in British Columbia - he's Dutch, so growing flowers of all sorts is in his blood. The springs were just amazing after that with flowers everywhere! I'm trying to recreate a little bit of home out here on the east coast :)
I should plant more bulbs!

Frosty out there this morning, sun hitting the frosted leaves makes them fall like rain.
Slept late, was already light out when I got up...which was kind of weird.
Threw my 'schedule' off, had to do chicken chores before my second cuppa.
Dumped more dirt from edging into the winter dust bath area and got heated waterer installed....can watch it today, should get up to temp before the ambient temps turn the thermo cube off.
Gonna be upper 50's today and tomorrow.
Got the first section of ornamental grass lassoed for cutting later on.
I use a tie down strap around it, tightening as I cut, to hold it all together to haul of into the woods.
It was supposed to be foggy here but it is not too foggy. Se will see sun by 10am here.

The part of the lawn where the tree was removed is doing well with over seeding! The rain on Monday did not mess anything up and I have grass sprouting on time

Good morning Cafe! Thanks for the coffee :)

It's overcast this morning and there will be rain this afternoon. I have a couple more bulbs to plant and then I will be finished for the year - added a couple naturalizing tulips, Siberian squill, Muscari, and Checkered Lillies in addition to lots of daffodils, tulips, and crocuses! Should be lovely in the spring.
Love tulips and daffodils! We have to plant them every year anew, as we have lots of voles and they leave any tulips for us to enjoy. But at least they don't eat the daffodils.

Good evening Cafe.
I've made another pot of coffee for those who are caffine rather than carbon based.
Damp and grey sums up the weather here. Made a large pot of stew for the house which smells okay but the beef is supermarket bought and I couldn't believe the amount of water it leaked out when I browned it.
I guess proper meat and bread and coffee are things I will have to get used to being a rarity.
