Morning Cafe, tree squirrels and raccoons I have had as a youngster. Have to pass on the rat here also.

I've got saplings everywhere in the fields and yards.
Thinking about whacking them......probably won't work.

It did work!!
57V EGO string trimmer took them all down.
Ain't pretty but at least(for now) the new trees have been foiled and that looks good!
Smelled good too, sassafras.

We get a lot of sassafras sprouts in one area too. Love the smell when I string trim that area.

Did manage to finish planting strawberry plants in the barrel .. A pepper that had grown enough in the garage it has a pepper on it .. brought 6 or so strawberry in .. to eat.

They are tenacious root spreaders.
Had them send enough roots to plug my septic inlet a few years ago.
Was a pleasant odor digging up the pipe to fix, not what I expected to smell.
Sprinkled copper sulfate in a slit all around the tank to stop that nonsense,
should probably reapply this year.

Good to know, thank you! They are quite a way from the septic tank. I will make SURE they don't invade the front yard.

There were no saplings when the tank got nailed...but then I kept it mowed.
Was all just roots crept in from a copse about 20' away.

This what we did in the garden today. I have like 20 strawberry plants in the Barrel now probably next year they will fruit also. Also the darn jalapeno was in the garage under a heat lamp it did finally get planted.
