I’m sorry DL! It’s always hard to loose one of the flock… I’m glad for her that it appeared quick also.

Yesterday I watched Olivia and Amelia (the buff EE in front of Olivia above) scratching around on the far side of the pen enjoying the day.
This morning Olivia was standing on one of her feet when I went out to feed them then slowly lowered herself to the ground. I went over and stroked her back and she allowed this then stood up and was mildly open mouthed breathing. I left her thinking "I'll have to get a better look at her tonight".
When I walked out the door 30 minutes later to go to work, she was laying dead in front of the run with Annie standing near her. She had a great day yesterday and didn't seem to have suffered. She would have been 5 on the 29th. She was one of the originals and was a very sweet bird.
Tornado warnings are scary.Weather alarm sounded on our phones about 5:45 this morning. Jumped up and made coffee then turned on local tv station, sure enough, tornado warning for us. Sat in safe space with coffee for about 10 minutes until the line passed us. After being without power for 46 1/2 hours this weekend, I am thankful the risk is past.
Stay safe @aart !
