Raced off to the feed store this morning as I only had ~cup of feed to give this morning.
Didn't want them to go without at all.
They hadn't touched what was there  but they are squared away now.

Man, OS has doubled in price since I started this chicken thing 10 years ago.

OS?

How selfish does one have to be to intentionally go to a DEMENTIA ward knowing they have Covid?
Sadly they have probably already reproduced and spread their stupid genes.

Are you are least buying the 50 pound bag rather than the stupidly priced 5 pound bag? I just looked at my records, I last bought OS a year ago for $18, still have about half a bag. If I recall the 5# bag is more than half that cost.

Yes, 50# bag every couple years. I remember it being ~$10 when I first started, then ~$12, then ~$14, today it was $18.

Today was the Great Coop Clean Out. Over the last couple of weeks I've been toying with the idea of going back to hemp because it's very low in dust and I really, REALLY like it. I logged back into my New Country Organics account where I bought my first batch in the first week in April of 2020. Back then I paid $19.95 for a 33 lb bag. Today they are selling a 22 lb bag for $31.95.

I have no idea. But if they tell me who this person is they won't see him/her there ever again... or anywhere else for that matter.

I'm glad I only do this annually.
It was filthy! And it took all day to do the work. And I still haven't washed the windows yet. But it does entail getting the garden beds ready because I have to move the oldest compost out of the left bay to make room for turning in the old bedding and the active bay of chicken manure. So there's a lot involved. There's enough daylight left to go out and clean those windows but I have no more gas left in the tank.

I added what I needed of the old compost into the garden beds and then shoveled the rest of the 2+ year old compost onto a tarp. That's one big pile of doody!

I want to be able to clean the coop out again in October but I don't have the room for the compost pile that I'm going to make.

I started out this morning by finishing up the drywall on the vanity wall in the master bathroom.
