I think there is an element of price gouging responsible for the more extreme rises in prices. It's usually blamed on Brexit or Covid here in the UK.

Covid is doing the school rounds. My youngest who works in a local primary school tells me she knows of many case where the parents know their child has Covid but still send them to school mainly because they can't afford to take time of work to look after the child. Of course, the virus spreads not just to other children, but also to the school staff which then go off sick.

Universe 1: Do whatever the heck you want, people! No masking mandates, no shutdowns, no social distancing, and you're all on your own. Want a vaccine, or to wear a mask? Ok, but you don't have to.

Did get covid from the adult Son going to his brothers.

Pretty much what many did around here. Had 3 friends who followed this protocol, got Covid, and died.
