BYC Café

Bubble wrap has a lot of uses. I pulled all nighters at work more than once, and slept in the lunchroom, on the floor. We had the big bubble stuff for packing. I pulled off about 12 feet, doubled it, bubble side-to-bubble side, and put some flatted cardboard boxes over it. Half way decent bed, and I stayed warm on a cement floor that had thin carpet as the only insulation.

But I sure was glad to go home the next day at 5 pm to a hot shower and my own bed.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I've been up since about 1:45. Insomnia is such a pain. I got up and started working on the house. I moved a bunch of tools and supplies to the basement and set up for cutting toe kick and baseboard.
I cleaned the walls in the spare room and put on another coat of joint compound over about 70% of the areas that needed it then installed cornerbead in the bathroom and seamed all the ceiling joints and one wall joint in there.
I woke the dogs up and a thunder storm rumbled through around 3:00. Bella was glued to me during the storm.
I did doze off on the couch at about 4:15 then was up again at 5:45 to feed the dogs and do the chickens.

Good Morning all!!!
My 2nd cup of coffee gone so now it's water (along with reheated chicken for breakfast) until later on around 11 then I'll have a cold GREEN TEA with Citrus then back to water until dinner then 1 soda.
Yesterday morning I did some yardwork before it got too hot then came in and "assigned" colors to my "BRIDE SQUAD" and "Team Men".
Off and on all night long it's been storming here so not really able to do anything in the yard today. Right now I'm in a lull but by later this afternoon/early evening suppose to get another round of storms and the same goes for this weekend. With all this rain at least I don't have the water the outside flowers/plants but just gotta be careful seeing how if they get to wet it will cause root rot which will kill them also.

Looks like I'm gonna hafta get the shop vac on the the garage water,
I actually knew that right away but was mixing 'head in the sand' with 'hope for drainage'.
There's a drain in the garage floor but floor is not sloped properly and drain has been slow since I moved here 23 years ago. It is draining but flooding went into corners so I probably should vac it out. Gonna get up in high 80's today so that might help with evaporation, but more possible heavy rain tonight and tomorrow. SMH.
Blatherout, time to go get chook chow.

Hello!
DL, glad your hubby wasn’t hurt when he ended up on the floor. I’m sorry it happened. I think I would have responded the same way.

DH and I are on an adventure. Our house/animal sitter called to tell us there was a raccoon in the garage. We helpfully told him, “Bring the dog and cat food in and hope for the best!” Wondering if it might be the one Ruger treed a week or so ago.
