BYC Café

It's just barely raining. Really would like a good amount. I still have plants in the garden that need it: Peppers and peas. I need the habaneros to ripen so that I can make hubby's salsa.
Rained pretty good here, 1/8" according to nearby rain gauge station.
More to come in a few hours.

He's three. New baby plus a 7 yo and no time to give him the attention he needs. They aren't in any rush to rehome him but realize they aren't meeting his needs.
This made me chuckle, I got my first 2 dogs from a young family in a very similar scenario.

a tent has been rented
Why doesn't a few of the congregation buy a party tent (10x30 or larger) then donate it to the church? That way there will be a tent already and one less expense for when the church needs more room. Plus the tent can be used for other activities/events that the church holds.
If the Brides parents have passed away like mine have then who should help the Bride with the planning and costs? All my other family have limited income. The Grooms parents has also passed so we are on our own plus we are grown adults. I am in my mid 40s and FH is heading towards 60. 2nd marriage for us both but as he says "it's my special day so he wants it to be very special".
I wish it was only in the 60s here but all this week it's suppose to be around 90 and feel above 100 with the heat index.

So, DH let the chickens out for an hour this evening. They all went back into the coops at dusk except Red. When DH tried to get him back into the coop, DH said he “attacked” him. After being locked up for several days, I can see the rooster’s point, but he does bear watching. So far when the grandkids and I have been among the chickens, the roosters/cockerels have all kept their distance. If any of them even look like they’re having bad thoughts, they’re a goner. Two years ago, I had some Delaware Broilers, and I kept a cockerel out to be my flock rooster. One day the kids and I were down there, GD - 2 years old - was standing next to me, holding my hand. I looked away to answer her brother, and when I looked back, that chicken was right in front of her (about eye level with her), scratching the ground and had ‘that look’. I scooped her up and tried chasing him away, and that bugger kept right on circling back to us. No contact was made, but that behavior was enough. I got the kids back in the house with Grandpa, went out, caught him and put him in the grow out pen with the rest of them.

No. His head position didn't start until he got to Absolut after being in the hospital for 12 days without anyone taking him out of the bed to walk.

The reason I ask was that I had a resident that always walked with his over looking at the floor.

His job made him look down most of the time.
