This year we are under the attack of a horrendous amount of biting/stinging bloodsucking insects.
Two years ago when we went to the beach house, the same thing happened to me and the dogs when we were hiking along the beach. The breeze was coming off the marsh and the bugs were terrible. Bella kept running to me for help. We ended up getting a very potent stable spray with permethrin in it that enabled us to make our hikes.
Do you use insecticides at all to get outside?

Good morning Cafe. I've got a hot pot of coffee freshly brewed for everyone.

I have to go to the Assessors office to drop off my grievance form this morning. They sent me a letter when I was in DE stating that they've increased my assessment by 40%!! I cannot determine a valid reason why. I looked over their data and it's all wrong. So I summarized their errors and added in the fact that I have to look at three huge box trucks that are parked smack up next to my property and will never move until the owner dies along with all the hoarded vehicles and JUNK that are all over his property. And the adjacent neighbors junk as well as along with the disgusting stench of raw sewage I smell every time I'm near the road as the same neighbors septic system is malfunctioning because of all the extra people they had living in the house that overwhelmed a septic system not designed for it.

I will also provide a copy of the death certificate to the Assessor and Clerk because Dave had life use of the property. They need to know that he's passed.

And I'll have to go to the Courthouse downtown because I also got a letter demanding that Dave report for Jury duty next month unless he has a valid reason not to...

No insecticides for us, but the dogs are treated against fleas and ticks with Bravecto, a tablet that is supposed to last for three months. Although to be effective and kill the bugs, the dogs will still need to get bitten and they are tossing and turning and snapping like demons gone wild when left outside the house.

It's chilly enough this morning that I built a fire in the wood stove. We'll probably open the window/door to cool the house off later. :lau

Today I really need to pick the rhubarb and maybe make something with it. The plant that is a split off a neighbor's is looking fantastic! The two that are from purchased crowns are nowhere near as big, but they're still babies.
