I think most doctors still want to provide good care, but their hands are tied by the insurance companies. Insurance companies should not be able to influence treatment. About 10 days after surgery for his ruptured appendix, DH developed two abscesses. He was very sick. (He was already very sick from walking around with a necrotic appendix, but that’s a different story.) It took the surgeon the entire day and a lot of phone calls to get approval for him to go to the bigger city with the bigger hospital to have the abscesses removed. Or as he put it, “It took all day before I found someone with any brains.” They wanted DH to wait TEN DAYS. The surgeon told them if he waited that long, he’d be dead.^^ @DobieLover, this is just such BS!
I just deleted my huge rant, as you know everything I wanted to say. It seems doctors don't provide care, and just don't care anymore.
I have a physical in July, and so far, my doc still seems to be actually caring about the care he provides. I hope he stays that way and doesn't retire any time soon. I am really dreading finding another doctor.
Ick!Nice and cool this morning after mid 60's overnight, but.....

Yes, believe me, I know.^^ @DobieLover, this is just such BS!
It isn't so much the doctor as it is his staff. To this day I don't think he knows what has happened to me.just don't care anymore.
This whole saga is absolutely appalling. I have been going through a totally trivial version of it for something where the doc’s office, the insurance company and the pharmacy couldn’t work it out between them, so I get the insanity of the system, but you are actually in pain and should not be left to suffer.Yes, believe me, I know.

I also called the office of the first doctor to ask for another trigger point injection to help with the pain. I got a message on my phone saying that they could schedule me out in late August. How in the hell is that helping anything??!! This came from his PA. I believe SHE is the main problem. I deleted the message and got started on getting care elsewhere.
At this point I don't give a rat's ass who gives me the injection as long as I get it. But I believe that I am ultimately going to need a partial discectomy to get more permanent relief.
Yes, makes it so much worse!Same here along with high humidity. Do you deal with high humidity too?
I'm just walking away. Once I get my injection, I'll be leaving a scathing review on Google and Healthgrades. Not that I think it will improve their administrative issues. But maybe it will elicit a call from the doctor himself. I won't take a call from anyone else. This whole saga is absolutely appalling. I wish I had any helpful suggestions but apart from camping out at the doctor’s office and screaming in agony I can’t think of any.
Come to think of it, that isn’t such a bad idea.
This did not go as planned.I'll get the dogs down for at least 45 minutes to run around the paths of the field today.
