We are supposed to get more of that stuff too, but today is beautiful! Psycho took her baby outside and I got to clean out the nest, from inside the coop, unscathed. I still have all of my hands, fingers included and eyes! I call that a victory! I tell ya, I can't wait to see how the LF Cochins are to deal with as broodies. Anything, even a smidge calmer, has to be easier. Well I am finished with lunch, so off to do more chores... later...

Heehee, glad all your fingers are intact! What breed is Psycho?

Morning! It is damp outside, not used to that. Psycho is a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte hatchery stock bird.
Pretty, but a very stern Mum for sure. I think more coffee should be ordered at this table. It feels like one of those days....

Snow is not wet because it is frozen? I am Florida stock so I have a difficult time imaging water everywhere -piled up in heaps and having to be shoveled, and It being dry.

It's always damp around here. rain, humidity, sweat...something. Gills would be nice.

Maybe I will have a coffee too.

UUgh! I feel like the stomach flu would like to make me its next victim, but I will see what I can do to fend it off. Keep busy perhaps...
Round 1 went to the Psycho Broody and the cold. The dogs dug/ pushed up the fence into her pen and were eating the chick food when I saw them. She was in the coop keeping baby warm and not moving so I guess they didn't bother her. Phew!!! Figures on a rocky hillside where it is almost impossible to drive fence posts, they would find the one spot where there are less rocks in the ground. .
Round 2 goes to me I think. I moved a very heavy hitch cargo metal thing and put it over their now rock filled hole and then put even more rocks on it. I would not be able to move the thing and because it is mesh metal, digging on it will rip out toenails. I also proceeded to sprinkle/ dump cayenne pepper powder all along the fence line and that seems to have made an impression on them. They are licking their lips and staying on the other side of the pen.
As long as we can all agree to get along, I will be happy.

About the only time it is humid up here is in June, July and August and even then, not too much. It is very dry here in the winter, even with the feet of frozen water piled all around us!

I could have used an extra cup of coffee at work today! After six hours I had a smashing headache, although that could have been from the non stop phones ringing. Tomorrow will be much better!
