BYC Café

Bless....

I have just let the chickens (11 hens and the 1 rooster) out into our main yard to forage. They haven't been out for about a week, and have been stuck in their run with no grass all that time. Don't get me wrong, their run is massive, but it is dust central out there!

Anyway, they all came screaming up to the gate when they saw me coming and I thought "OK, out you come for a couple of hours before dusk." They have about 3 acres to meander around, loads of sweet fresh grass to pick at, and with the recent rains probably lots of yummy grubs to eat too. They have not appeared on the verandah as yet, which is their favourite spot and clear testament to the fact that pickings must be good out in the yard!

The three 'babies' (two of whom are laying now, and all of which a bigger than their Momma!) are now ranging with the rest of the flock. They still sleep separately, so they are not part of George's 'harem' yet, but they are able to follow the others around. Oh, they all look so cute with their little fuzzle-butts up in the air!

Honestly, this is why I got chickens...

Krista, hoping you will have many, happy days to come. Don't 'tackle 'your wardrobes - just 'gently' work through them .
I keep everything because one day I will be a sized six again! (Think Tara and Scarlet eating a dirty radish)

oh, I know it won't happen.
I would have to divide in half.
...although two of me would be convenient,- but I am not an amoeba.

Krista. DON'T stress.... you are not going to feel anything when it all first happens anyway. A month or so down the road is when tiredness kicks in and queasiness if that is going to be part of it. It is the what if / maybe that drives a person nuts. Your job right now is to relax and let things just be what ever they are going to be and treat yourself like a royal Queen with healthy food and a foot rub!

3 good eggs, I know the drill- had 6 sizes of jeans in the closets forever. The size 6's went first, then the size 8's, and reluctantly the size 10's - have 3 sizes left and hope I don't go higher. Once in a blue moon, I loose a few lbs. and excitedly try to cram myself in a smaller size. If I didn't have to zip up, bend, stand without fainting, I probably could wear them.

I wear big baggy clothing to work in because of the heat and humidity down here.
If I don't I get so soggy I can't move.
I think that is how the weight crept up on me.
That and sitting down and playing on BYC instead of doing something productive.

I keep telling myself that I will toss out the big clothes as I work my way down, but it does not happen. I am down then up then down then up.
I think the solution is to grow taller.
