BYC Café

Hi all

Busy, busy, busy here. I gave notice to our landlord and spent a day collecting boxes yesterday. I've also arranged a moving truck. Moving day is not until 30 May but I am an organised person, and unless I can be prepared in every way I'll get flustered.

Sour, I'm sorry to hear you are not well. I seem to have missed that in the thread, probably while I was stuck in my self-absorbed bubble over the past few days. Are you ok? My best to you, of course. I also hope you stumble across some of those jam ball doughnuts in your travels!

I took a sleeping pill last night. I haven't been sleeping well, but last night I got a full night's sleep. Today I am off to the vets. Not for myself, for Mackie, my cat. He has a bleeding, raw looking little paw and is refusing to come out of bed this morning. I had hoped he would hold out until Monday, as both he and 'Lil Puss have their annual vet check, vaccinations and are getting microchipped before the big move. Not going to happen. The wound is weeping and he is limping. Poor Mack.

Quote: I have never done it, so I imagine there will be a lot of tea towel practice runs.
And I will be asking you questions. (Stepped right in it didn't you?)
So, they decided that they will combine the two presents and get me a good one.

They both have ideas. My son is a big dragon lover, so I am going to make him a dragon in cool shades spinning his tail with one hand and snapping his fingers with the other.
Snap-dragon.
Once I set up the screen, I will have to make a few to make it worth while.

LOL!! I was all of 17 when I did a shop class on printing using several different methods,(computer assisted WAS not even thought of back then) I think in 1967/68.
I do remember that only one color for each screen and if you do more then one color you need to be good at aligning them. Thinking more, thats why there was a spot in a lower corner, that was used for alignment of different screens. I had to beat the dust off of that thought ya-know!

I had a commercial art class in high school and we had to something like that with Ruytlith. and acetate.
Computers have taken a lot of work out of everything.
I think how I would like go back to simpler times...but really other than our population making things more complicated, these are simpler times.

Life is not a highway strewn with flowers,
Still it holds a goodly share of bliss,
When the sun gives way to April showers,
Here's the point you should never miss.
Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that freeze in May.
So if it's raining, have no regrets,
Because it isn't raining rain, you know,
It's only raining snow.

Local poet posted this for today and I thought it was to the point.

Had breakfast with a friend this AM because I had to get the big truck from the shop that had it for two days and never took a look and we have this snow coming in and all. So I told them how it was gonna be next time or else (stern motherly look of death if you defy me stare) and I believe they got the idea.
But hey, I got a couple of hours with coffee and girl chat and a meal. Can't beat that ! We are supposed to get 20 inches of snow or so by Monday. We will see.....
