Lol oh Lordy my parents got lucky with me and hub's wedding. By the time immigration expenses and moving expenses rolled around (and the pesky get married within 90 days thing...) we ended up doing a city hall wedding...just my parents, his mom and step dad (and one half sister) and some close friends of his' parents, wife and kid.
Aaaand I got my dress for about $100. Angered my sister something fierce she wanted me to fly down to Ottawa to go dress shopping with her and mom....uh. Can't afford a "real" wedding dress sibling! (She didn't come down for the wedding either.)
Woulda been cool to have the full princess hair/makeup experience and a photographer I'm sure but hey. We did things on the cheap.
And I did have a real cute birdcage veil but it was kinda breezy and it wasn't staying in my hair lol (hey, my sibling is the hair stylist. Not me.)
We had a small wedding too. Hubby and I didn't have much money to our names, so we had a garden wedding with a high tea afterwards. My dress was a white retro swing dress replica that I had made for $400. The whole shebang, from dress to cake to food to flowers cost us under $3,500. I simply don't see the point in splashing money about on a big wedding. The wedding means nothing, it's the marriage that counts!
The MIA hen showed back up and she is still irate about her baby ditching her. Now she is trying to steal the newly hatched under Psycho Broody, so I guess I really need to change some names around. I tell you what! I think I will call HER Psycho Broody and I think she crawled into a hole (compliments of the stupid, er, good dogs) under the coop so that she could at least be closer to her chick, I really don't know but she is sporting a cut under her right jaw line and seems fine. Psycho Broody is now Momma Broody with 5 or 6 chicks.
I am curious, Margie - what happens if you let Psycho Broody back in with her baby? I mean, I know that baby wants to be independent and that Momma wants her baby back, but what happens if you let her have access to the baby?
