if you have all the material ready, it's a weekend or two job, even if only mildly handy.

eta: all of the screws used, were 100% non gmo!!

Lol not handy at all, DH is but absolutely hates it. I have tons of scrap wood, but am trying to convince myself that that I could build a chicken tractor with it. I will probably just end up buying a kit for the greenhouse.
I will post updates of my coop building mishaps for everyone's amusement as soon as it gets warm enough to do something :D

I absolutely love doing that stuff. I hate this time of year, as it limits me during the week days.

my wife gets upset with me, because of the money I spend on my projects. lol many times I create unneeded projects, just so I can build stuff.

Maybe you should let her know that those 'projects' keep you out her hair so to speak.
Just a thought, as my DW gets to the point of flatout asking me 'Don't you have something that needs done outside'?
Scott

Heehee! I get to that point too!

Seems I am the one that keeps finding projects for me and the DH to do.

He keeps telling me his tractor barn keeps getting pushed back because I keep taking all the time and lumber for my "chicken stuff"

(tractors and dozers have been sitting out in the weather for many moons, right? what's a few more...lol )

well she says, she would appreciate more time with me, but then on them poor weather weekends, when I am cooped up all day with her, takes on the same attitude as your wife. lol

oh, a tractor barn?

that sounds like my kind of project. plus you could "add on" some coop housing.....storage for feed.

Morning! Off and running this Monday I can see. Bert, how did you seal the edge of the panels with the hoop plastic and have it stay?
I read somewhere that plastic sheeting can react to PVC somehow....???? Not sure where I read that and it may just be pure hooey.

Gee, and here I was thinking I was married to the only person in the world who could get cabin fever in a thunderstorm . . . .

I know we generally always need rain. but dangint, why can't it rain between 7am and 4pm, on monday thru tursdays only?

I have stuff to do on the weekends.

gardens to prep, roost and nesting boxes to build, coop/runs to build, fences to mend, gates to hang, pastures to shred (that won't happen this year), cross fencing to do, greenhouse prep, yard to mow (thank goodness boys are of age to help with that.) rabbit tractors to build......

wow, I'm kind of tired looking at that list, and that is just my list of things to complete by spring, I won't go into the wife's list for me.

I think it's hooey.

but the edges are sandwhiched between 1x4's screwed together with the special non gmo screws, every 8"
