Wow all those fish recipes sound so delicious!!!! I might have to try that!

We're in New England so rather than rivers and cat fish and that stuff we usually eat ocean fish when we do. Though we can always buy other kinds either at the grocery or this delicious sea food place near us. But most of what we catch is striper (striped bass) and bluefish. I might go to a river sometime though hah but I haven't been fishing in years. My brothers go though. I might go out again. I used to find it sorta boring but it's kind of interesting. I might have gone last year i think actually but we used to go all the time. It's always fun when you catch the huge fish. (Had to look it up to see how big they have to be ha) they added a new rule last year you can only take one and it has to be 28 inches. But that's fine, those are basically rats anyways lol they can be like 36, 40 inches. Or bigger. Some get HUGE. I've never caught one that big though but my uncle has haha

I prefer perch, but blue gill is good. Make a batter of flour, egg, garlic powder, a little pepper and beer. Deep fried and I like tartar sauce, though homemade is best.
ETA: With a side of homemade fries :D

Perch are the best but Bluegills are more common in the lakes by my house.... But yeah I've got several meals of perch in the freezer too.... Yum

Morning.  It is trout around these parts.....
We only got a couple of inches of snow last night.  They are saying today is the day, but now it is too late to register for this weekend's wrestling tournament so I guess the DS$ gets to hang out and burn some slash piles instead.   Oh, and lamb watch too......     as opposed to watching lambs, which we hope to do after lamb watch.....
I think I need some coffee!

Trout are okay..... But not compared to s good walleye of perch dinner.... I like the snail Trout fresh from the river... Pan fried..... But around here most Trout from the great Lakes are big so we smoke them or grill then

I want fresh fried fish for breakfast.

When I was a kid, my best friend and I did a lot of night fishing. When we would get home my Mom would cook some of the fish as quickly as we cleaned them. I'm not certain they make women like that anymore.

Oh, yes, to both -- growing up the best part of summer was going camping and getting up early to walk the creeks, catch a mess of trout and go back to the campsite where we'd fry them up for breakfast. I so miss that kind of fishing - -out here it's all slow rivers and lakes, not the fun of picking out *the* hole on the brook, climbing around on log jams, etc. The hours and hours I spent walking up and down the creeks from our campsite.......

That's exactly the kind of fishing I remember as a kid. Salmon eggs on treble hooks and floating wet flies down around snags to get to that perfect hole where the trout were hiding. Hiking up small side streams getting "lost".

Pan frying fresh trout, but we'd eat them for dinner since my dad would make sourdough pancakes for breakfast. We used to camp a lot.

I've never camped.(as an adult)... Always figured I lived in the woods.
When I grew up though in the city... We used to go camping..... Miss the camping.... But not the city.

Morning! Snowing, but not heavy. We got just a few inches yesterday, nothing major. I was up at 3AM, checking and feeding, nothing major there either.
Coffee is in order. I did go back to bed, but the waiting and wondering is coffee worthy.

Barr, sounds cold. Glad it is letting up, and hopefully this is the last big snow you get.
We are wet here. DH and I debated getting the 2 month old chicks outside today. As wet as it is I said we would wait a few hours and see. It is 43 degrees out and misting, not really healthy weather for birds or babies. Looks like I will be making play dough today and everyone will be force to stay indoors.
