My in-house IT guy is happy as a clam - he just installed a new router/modem. I kept hearing him chortling with glee as he learned about all the new features on this one. The completely seamless transition surprised me - previously, each device had to be introduced into the system individually. This one assumed control, and my laptop never knew the difference (though I do - things are suddenly loading a whole lot faster).
Installing it wasn't all that seamless, though. It was a sort of "Catch 22" situation - it couldn't access the internet until it was activated, and it couldn't be activated without an internet connection. A call to the provider was made, and a certain amount of yelling occurred as the automated menu was navigated, but eventually an actual human was reached, and with his assistance, we are channeling Steve Austin as we cruise through hyperspace - better, stronger, faster than before (though for a lot less that $6 million).
