BYC Café

Morning! Rained hard here last night. Got the fish stocked and petted the lambs. Need to do some paperwork and then head out to wrestling practice this evening.
Happy hump day y'all! Girl needs more coffee too.

Sounds like a great day so far -- what did you stock?

Scott, I LOVED beer - entirely too much it appears - eventually the beer won and I lost. It was a heck of a ride, but I have been sober for more than 23 years. Just the way it is.

That is no small think, sour, congratulations on 23 years!

Back when I had a day job, that would happen to me alot of the time.
I used to make bets with a coworker about how long after we got home that the rain would start.
Scott

Yep - seems that is just the way it works - or clear and beautiful all through the week and then bad weather all weekend long.

Mornin' all.
Gray and very greeeeen out there this morning.

We haven't gotten a whole lot of rain out of Bonnie (thank the Lord!!) but I think I know why they call 'em tropical depressions. Gads I wish this thing would just get outta here!

But on a bright note, our air conditioning system is working again. Actually, we only discovered it wasn't working a few days ago - the weather had been mild enough, we hadn't felt a need to turn it on. But this soggy tropical air gets hard to breathe, especially at night . . . . Anyway, after a bit of confabulatin', we diagnosed a faulty thermostat. Critter picked up a replacement at the hardware store, and yesterday, I installed it. Feeling a bit smug and self-satisfied; it's not rocket science or nothin' like that, but I got it right and the thing actually works!

(Critter asked me about getting a truck and painting 'Bunnylady's HVAC Service' on the side of it . . .
Glad to hear the A/C is fixed, nothing worse than being hot and uncomfortable at night.

Morning!

I think most of us have had enough rain.

And, as I type, I hear it rumbling again outside.....time for our daily rain.
Oh, my, it just doesn't get any cuter than that!!

We stocked minnows, brown trout and grass carp. We are bringing this lake back from near death by a drought a few years back, weeds and dredging in a few spots to get some depth so the fish can survive the winters easier.

CK, I did what you said and clicked Desktop, It still looks the same. I also tried mobile and that looks very much different. I went back to Desktop. I'll have to pester my son to do a remote for me and fix it.

The computer is set for automatic updates from Microsoft - I BET they did this. For a moment I had a glimmer of hope. It's not rare that I accidentally hit something and mess up stuff. I didn't even know that was called page editor. I thought maybe that is what a browser is. SEE what computers do to ordinary works born with no techy skills.

Nice -- our pond crashed a few years ago due to weather and we just never got around to bringing it back, but when it was healthy we had three grass carp that were probably my favorite fish in the mix, named them after the three musketeers.

G'night Scott, heading for bed now (4:45 am.) have to get up at 8 am and put the garbage out.(then go back to bed) Maybe I am part werewolf or vampire - sleep most of the day, up at night ????

I know the feeling. Except I don't sleep during the day either.

I do not have a ton of say in what he puts in his pond, but I would love to start harvesting.
I agree, they are eating frogs mostly. I imagine there maybe minnows, just not enough for the numbers of bass. But there are no bluegill.

If they a aren't over populated defiantlyneed more food....I would think you would want a lot more bluegill .....mugh better eating than bass....and if it's your pond there shouldn't be a legal size limit.
