'Whip up' - exciting indeed.
Honestly, I'm among the millennials, but my parents are both from Montana ranching families. Although I am not particularly good at it, if I had to I could milk a dairy animal. I've milked goats and horses a bit. Cows less, as we didn't get cows as much as a kid. Sometimes we got paid in animals. Bartering is awesome! I'm fairly strong, but I'm not a true blue ranch kid like my father. He still tosses bales like they are nothing, and he turns 60 this year! I did inherit the stamina, however, and I can work outside all day hot or cold. Still, I feel like a wuss compared to the real cowboys like my dad. I can toss bales with a decent pair of hooks, but not all day. Still, I suppose it's more than most young people these days. Montana is struggling to hold onto its youth for future ranchers and Farmers. Everyone goes to the city for easy money. I can't join my family on the ranch anymore now, since my husband became sick.
I think for us, we may sell products made from the goat milk, and then it will be for our consumption........we currently have to purchase 5 gallons per week from the store........the only reason we don't buy 8 gallons per week, is because I refuse to........we could certainly drink that much in a week.
everyone in the family loves milk.....
I believe many of us are better behaved in the Café...![]()
I'm usually still half asleep through my first cup of coffee, and my brain takes a full cup to kick in. Been coming here for a year and a half, darn near daily.
Starbucks doesn't hold a candle to the Café java.
Now I' off to a doctor's appointment... wish me luck![]()
I'm a weakling lol and i started sweating just moving some stuff out of the new coop![]()
You go through 5 gallons a week!?!?! Geez how many people do you have!?
But then again we probably go through 2 gallons a week which is a lot.
We used to go through more but my brother moved down the street and my other brother is in TX right now or in school when he's home. So it's just my parents and I right now but that's kind of a lot to go through with only 3 people. But we like cookies and stuff hahaha we go through more when we have cereal, I can eat A LOT of cereal in a day, but it's all stale right now. Speaking of which, gotta throw it out.
I'm out of ovates, so fyi, it went great! I'm very relieved!
Lunch was okay. They did a lot of chatting about her recovery and some crying so I guess it was good for their healing and moving on.
I got a few chores done while I was down there in the heat, 98 degrees worth, so I can stay up here for the next few days.
Yesterday one of the granddaughters went to Subway to pick up lunch for everyone. Her sister texted that the Princess wanted a BLT with mayo and crispy bacon and cheese. She got a sandwich with mayo, crispy bacon, and cheese. We're not sure what happene3d to the lettuce and tomato. Don't ever order a bacon, mayo and cheese sub.![]()
Sorry to hear about your husband....having been cursed worth poor health most of my adult life i can surely understand.
I really love goat milk soap.....
Good luck.
Cereal doesn't get a chance to go stale here.....
Awesome.....
Yuck 98 is just too darn hot

Good Morning. This looks like a nice friendly thread to join. Im new to chickens, have three Rhode Island Reds and three Wellsummers. We just got first egg on 8-1 and so far its been fun. One of thr RIR has a very small comb but seems healthy and acts normal...any concerns or normal variation? She seems a bit bossy to the other chickens so of course we humanize her and think she is experience comb envy. LOL
Good morning! Happy Friday!!
I'll get the coffee started
