BYC Café

I know my mom gets rabies vaccination every year, since she is a veterinarian, just so any patients she sees that could have it she is protected. Definitely a very dangerous disease. She worries about brucellosis too, since that bison herd in Yellowstone has it. Brucellosis is nigh on impossible to cure, and it isn't a very fun disease either, and the vaccine, being a modified live, can cause infection in humans, so can only be administered by a veterinarian. People don't realize just how dangerous brucellosis is, and cattle herds near the park have to be tested and vaccinated against it. Ranchers risk getting it if a pregnant cow picks it up and aborts a calf and they touch the calf without gloves.

OH, that sounds like fun Margie. I can bring dessert!

It has been lightly raining all through the night, and looks to continue today. I will be baking, as I did none this week due to work and the "dad projects".

I do have to get some work done I the garage. We've been cleaning and organizing the upstairs storage....mostly trying to get rid of the junk and figuring out just what we want to keep. It's around 800+ square feet, or about four storage units. We had a lot of stuff up there "waiting" until the house was built. Well, the other day I went up there "looking" for something. I was sure I knew where it was, because I had just seen it when I was searching for something else. An hour later I still hadn't found whatever it was I was looking for...the was the last straw. We are about 2/3 of the way finished and DH Wants to make another trip to the dump today!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning, Café.

Morning! Fire horses are installed safely into their new home. 5 acres of green grass ought to keep them more than happy and fat.
We had some nice rains yesterday; it even made puddles. We are setting up one of those big carport tents this AM for a BBQ tomorrow in the neighborhood. The weather is supposed to be wonderful and it should be a lot of fun and great food. Coffee is done brewing so go grab a cup!

Good Morning Margie

It's good to hear that the horses will OK and in a real good place. Sunday BBQ's for the 'hood are a great way to spend a day.
What time should we arrive for the BBQ?

11:30 AM and bring a side dish to share...... maybe a chair and a sweater, high of 70. You can go for a ride on our new fire truck too!

Sounds good, wish I was closer.
I can bring fresh sweet corn or maybe my green potato salad.

Sounds good also!
