no ma'am,

spent the weekend hollering at boys, to stay out side. 12 year old had some friends over camping, for his birthday. then football game on Sunday. fixed a couple of holes in the coops, so hopefully those flighty leghorns will stay put.

Kids and chickens sure don't leave much time for much else, huh...

Hey, did you end up giving your hens any supplemental lighting? Wondering if it helped your egg production.

no, I'm going to go the route to treat for parasites, and wait them no laying wenches out until spring. lol

I guess if I was in it just for egg production, I would add the lighting, but I'd rather have them producing longer.

wife and daughter made some applet pie jelly this weekend.  it was pretty dang good, especially for their first attempt at jelly making.

That's sounds good! I don't generally make jelly, it is VERY time consuming! Glad their first attempt turned out so well.

Well I made it, It's Tuesday morning and I'm up and somewhat at-um.
Both pots are ready and waiting for ya'll.
My ditch digging didn't go so well, I found water at about a foot deep

Back to waiting on Mattew water to drain away some more.

How deep will you have to go? A couple feet or so? I think up here we have to go 3 feet to ensure no freezing.
