Thanks for the info! They sound like somewhat a pain to take care of, like continuous chicks lol, but they sound fun at the same time! Is yours loud? And I'm not really sure what type of goats, I was thinking some sort of dairy breed I guess or Boer goats, doesn't really narrow it down very much though lol

But mostly Nigerian Dwarf and/or Pygmy, and then Alpine, Nubian, or LaMancha. I hadn't considered the latter two before but people have convinced me they might not be bad lol that or Oberhasli or Toggenburg but those are a little harder to find and more expensive.

So basically I guess the short answer is just whatever I can find haha

I want them mostly for pets but also for brush/weed control, a reason why I thought dwarfs might not work and Boers or at least full size goats might. I'm still on the fence about whether I want milk or not, I can be somewhat lazy sometimes so I'm not sure I want to milk them or make stuff aha but yeah, mostly for hugging

She's messy & a little loud, but not at all a pain to take care of. Ducks are really funny to watch & have very interesting personalities. She doesn't like to be held like the chickens do, but she loves to be talked to & sang to... I love her immensely!

I'm always curious about pets I've never had. I look forward to hearing all about the goats when you get some.

Awww that's awesome! She sounds like a great duck!

I'm the same way, I love researching or hearing about different animals ha

Well, that might be a little while, still working on the convincing part, but I know that I will have them eventually whether it's in a few months, a few years, even fifty years, so when I do, I will definitely post about them!!

I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later.

I have another plan too: get them to slowly build some stuff, or I'll build it myself, just "for fun"/"for more practice" (we built a new coop and that went pretty well so, "i wanna build more" but in reality it is a goat house

Good Morning Everybody,

And yet another mid January morning that is in the mid 40's (7.6°C).
I do hope that we have paid for this nice weather with that last nasty wet frozen cold weekend.
I think that is looking like a great Friday morning here.
Both pots of coffee and the hot water are good to go.
Enjoy the day!

I'm not getting out of bed today.

I am already out of bed,,,,,, I think this is a bad sign.... I forgot what day it is..

Friday the 13th 18 below zero... Frozen eggs in my future. I might as well buy a duck, I have hit bottom now what more could a duck do me...... Woe is me.....

I think I will go downstairs and talk to the Fuzzy Butts and see if they can counter the curse of the 13th.

I have heard from very good people that fuzz-butts do counter/cure most any thing that is dampening your moods.
So have a great day!

Good morning everyone! Over a foot of snow here, DH has spent a lot of quality time plowing and shoveling. And it made for two days of pretty unnerving driving to work!

Nothing too interesting in my pantry, most of the outdated stuff was removed last year when we moved, so it was mostly small appliances and other cooking items that I thought I would need. Those are moving to the basement storage and I will Be making room for more sprinkles!

KDOG I do use tea for flavoring in some of my cookies, bread, frosting and cake. So you could use some up that way.

The real reason I was cleaning my pantry was for another reason altogether. I've been on a breeder's list for a golden retriever puppy for the last six months. I started out at #84,I'm now #20. One of the females was due to have her pups on Monday. This is the litter I'm requesting a puppy from, they will be ready to go home a couple days after my birthday! Well, she didn't have the puppies until Tuesday afternoon, I was checking my email every half hour! And then, she only had two girls and seven boys. I requested a girl, and crossed my fingers that no one higher on the list requested a girl. At 8pm tonight it will be official, and Lucy will be joining our family in March. The boys will be thrilled, I'm sure! She will never be able to replace our beloved Miss Wiggles, but I'm sure she will be very special in her own way!

Have a great day everybody, it's Friday!:D

Please keep the cold over there, we are still digging out from the snow! And you can use Friday the 13th to goof off!

I just came back from visiting the fuzzy Butts.. Life is good, the 13th is countered.

All the fuzzies love me! Opening the door is a treat all 8 come running to visit and escape and get loved.

I have to keep reminding them they are too young to be cuddled and played with for another week or so.
