BYC Café

MM - I think they're just mutts. We're probably going to process the red around Christmas (he'll be 6 months old). Ideally they should weigh around 250+. The female we're hoping to need and once her little ones are weaned we'll process her. Little guy will probably go a year from now and so on and so on. We'll have to get a boar sometime in the next few months, probably after the red is gone.

Cap - right now they're averaging a little over 50 lbs of feed a week, plus about 6 hard boiled eggs a day and cooked green tomatoes. We're trying to get them to start eating hay because we won't have yard/garden waste in the winter. They're really spoiled . Their littermates are about 1/3 the size, ad they're still in with a whole bunch of other pigs and they're honestly not being cared for very well.

Pertnear- that's one heck of a long and horrible ride!

Cap- did you go and get poison ivy doing all of your clearing?

Albuquerque was the end of a long miserable trip from Needles CA. back in about '67 or so in the trunk of a car. The fuel pump on the family car was giving up so my step dad stuck me back there with a piece of garden hose with a rag rapped around it and stuffed into the filler neck of the gas tank. Any time the engine would start to quit it was my job to blow gas up to the carburetor. Sure got some funny looks from passers-by. I lasted until Albuquerque.

:lau Pert, I love it - the epitome of red neck solutions.

It worked and we thought nothing of it back then. Even after I gave up in Albuquerque all we did was dismantle the fuel pump and cut out a new diaphragm out of a butter container and it got us on into Abilene. Just wished we had thought of it sooner.

Not yet but i wash up hands and arms every time i go in the house. Mostly Virginia creeper back there. I spent a good part of today going to the ent for my sinuses. And shopping in Danville.

Scott is fine!
"HI Margie :frow
I am ok, my 'puters are not. :duc
I have robbed a couple 3 machines, and put together a frankenputer. It works, but not very fast. I am hopping that Santa will be nice to me this year.
Thanks for asking, and I will get back to the Café soonest. :hugs
Scott"

:clap thanks Margie! What a relief

SO very glad Scott is okay - I hope he appreciates how much I worried about him. I thought maybe an errant hurricane swept him away.:hit:oops:. I guess pain & suffering doesn't matter anymore. :(

Loves ya muchly ;)

Zenfel for poison ivy, note to self or others interested.

Great stuff! (although i think it's Zanfel?? Maybe?)
My son had (has) the worst reactions it. I tried everything when he was little.

I don't know, she didn't spell it and there was none at the local pharmacy but Walmart has it supposedly. Supposed to be like $35. But worth it to me.

Morning cafe, time to get your coffee/tea!

I'm going in to work today to cover for someone...there's a heavy fog out there and I don't want an employee to drive 40 miles through it to work. I'll drop in/out as I can.

You all behave, but if you can't, have fun!
