Hiya NFC!
I wasn't planning on doing anything for the holidays, but my neighbour invited us to their place for the day. @chickens really invited us to her family Christmas gathering on the 30th.
My neighbour fell off a ladder hanging his outdoor lights a few weeks ago and hurt his back so I went and helped them finish their decorating. Then his girlfriend asked me to help them wrap their presents in exchange for the use of their oven and washing machine! Woo hoi! So I'm going to be baking up a storm today & tomorrow! Made pastry dough the other day but realized I can't use it for Christmas day... I used lard, and someone in their family is allergic to pork.

How about you? Are you all set?

Hello...Look forward to you both coming...Lots of laughs..
What happens on the Funny Farm, stays on the Funny Farm..lol...See you soon!

no one has told me what the Christmas plans are

I do know I am taking a goat today to....uh..... a "date"

Stupid silly goat, even with a buck can, haven't seen any signs of heat. So we are dropping her off for a couple of weeks. Sure hope she gets bred. :fl

Here is the tree so far. Needs a star and garland.

Time for me to run. Taking 2 of the neighbour's dogs to the vet for her. They're getting fixed.

Just catching up; on the birthday front my DH is also a holiday baby Dec 30. It's tough to do something "special" as usually we've been travelling visiting family and friends. But my parents were always sweet to give him something specific for his birthday.

Story from Christmas past (relating to the bad weather): My boyfriend (now DH) and I decided to go to his family for xmas dinner since we'd always been with my parents. My dad was pretty bummed about it but we though it was only fair. It was terrible weather and we had to drive several hours to get there. It took us a long time but we probably got there around 4pm at least. When we pulled up his grandma was leaving. When we got in, it turns out they had their meal already and so we just took some leftovers and microwaved them. It was the saddest xmas dinner I've ever had and was in stark contrast to the warm and loving day I'm used to with my family. Anyway, it was overall an unpleasant experience (in a long line of many others) and so we've never given them xmas day with us. Last year we didn't even see them or exchange gifts. I feel bad for his siblings (much younger), but I'm also not taking responsibility for his family. Sorry that was so long, no one needs to read it!

And, as for the happenings here, we're starting to get buried in snow :)

That stinks :(

Maybe it was just a fluke though?
