Have I mentioned that I still hate bow ties?

That’s really funny! I loved English, but hated arithmetics.Ralph J always wore them. I associate bow ties with him. I am a rule follower - the Princess calls me 'The Boy Scout'. I cheated in his class - not to help myself, but to help others. I really like words and spelling - I would help with answers on the spelling tests .![]()
Lol, my DH calls my a gypsy. It doesn't help that I have a Bohemian background![]()
There are teachers, and then there are 'teachers'. Had a teacher tell us that our son had too much empathy for others. Seriously ?
I don't have anywhere near your memory or brain power. When called upon, I would just freeze in my chair. My eighth grade teacher and I had a hate/hate relationship. I was not a particularly good student, and he used to love to do verbal math challenges. + - X divide. I always had the answer. He hated that. We were a sending district for high school, and he recommended me for the 'general' program. Then we had standardized testing. I did quite well and he accused me of cheating. He was assured that no way was that possible. Ralph J and his little bow ties - I bear a grudge.
Seriously.
I was assigned to an 'accelerated program' probably what is called an honor's program. Scared the crap out of me, because I had been assured for years that I was a 'dumb' kid. For sure if I was a child in school today I would be wearing some sort of label.

I like words, I like numbers. I'm a counter - we'll climb a flight of stairs, and the Princess will ask, "How many steps?". She knows that I am a counter. When doing math, I visualize numbers. She thinks that is freakish.
We were climbing the cellar steps one day, and she was behind me. As we reached the top, she asked, "Why don't you count the top step?" I don't because it is # 13. How did she know that - I think that is freakish, but then again she is a Gypsy.
