Haha. Sure! Just give me your address... haha kidding. I just hated cheese since I always thought it was sour and bitter- and you gotta admit, it smells terrible.

DE really doesn't do anything, just saying. You should get a bucket for aquarium use only and mark that in black marker on it. Much more efficient.

I thought it killed/dried out bugs? I would normally just use sweet pdz* but I couldn't find any. I think I might be out. So I figured I'd use the D.E. just in case cause I'd heard the bug thing but mostly for odor or drying it out, idk. I thought about using Sevin but didn't want to use chemicals in there. Plus I wasn't sure if it had to air out first?

And thanks. A bucket would definitely be easier but I cleaned it somewhat impulsively hah

What has friday got to do with it? I thought tomorrow is wednesday?

I think she was referring to when I said I was planning on sleeping in on Friday.

non food grade DE is used in filter systems. That is the one thing that it does do. It filters water but does not kill things.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the coffee. I bought a cheese making kit off of Amazon and it should be here today.

I thought it would be a great project until I can get outside again. Now I just need to go buy some milk....but we are due a grocery shopping trip soon.

I am making Cheddar cheese. It is a bit involved and I have to wait 60 days for it to age. I will make some farmers cheese this weekend and it is an instant cheese! I will not have to wait for it to age.

Edited to add: normal pasteurization works but not ultra pasteurized. I made the cheddar cheese from organic pasteurized milk

I think this is food grade but idk, i jist got it online i think.i heard the red earth or whatever brand wasnt safe.

But that's disappointing it doesn't do anything. A lot of things I've read seem to indicate it does. :/

Good, I'd wondered about that as raw milk isn't easy to find here either. What kind of cheese are you going to start with?

Try to find someone local with goats and buy milk as " pet food."
