I've got two pullets laying which is expected; they don't do the winter slow down if they are under a year old but I've also got an 18 month old just started to lay and that according to the experts shouldn't be happening.Guess what? I have 2 hens that have started to lay eggs again. I wasn't expecting any until late Jan/Feb time frame. Huh, who knew.... I went in to the coop to give them a head of cauliflower to play with while the weather is nasty and I looked around and poof, there they were. However, my DH has been "taking care of the chickens" with feed and water, but apparently not paying attention. I even said the other day when the banty was singing, "Wow! She is gearing up a bit early." She knows better that I do....
