Is Lightening Rod Man a post mortem compilation?I've got a copy thanks. One of my most played albums.
I've also got Lightning Rod Man by Lowell George but it isn't anything like as good as Thanks I'll Eat It Here.
It''s been the bantams here that seem to be most prone to it.Similar situation here. I have one bantam hen that must be 4 or 5. Her scales are perfect. Most of my other birds pick it up at about 1 yr of age and I have to treat. I wish I knew what factors were influencing it.
Sorry, I think you call it rubbing alcohol in the US.@Shadrach, what is 'surgical spirit' ?

I use coconut oil cooking spray. Dead easy to apply. It''s been the bantams here that seem to be most prone to it.
I'm pretty much on top of it now. I Vaseline their legs whether they got it or not when I catch them in daylight hours. Some didn't take to being captured in the day as easily as others.
Idk, must have been 4 years ago I started dipping their legs in surgical spirit. Worked really well, much easier than Vaseline if you do it at night.
I'm horrid. I sneak up on them at night and stand them on top of the coop in a bowl.I use coconut oil cooking spray. Dead easy to apply.
It is quite funny to see the more ditzy birds high-stepping around the coop because they don't trust this weird hissy stuff that's now clinging to their legs. The calmer birds just sit there and even put their other leg down for me.

You can't walk in to my coops. They're more like high security roost bars with nest boxes than coops. I wanted them to be portable so I could rest the local ground.
