Dobie Lover, hope Mogwai, will be okay. Maybe she ate something that didn't agree with her.

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your critters! Can you put Fabio in a cage or a different enclosure while you work? It might preserve your relationship to not have him defending against you!Good morning Cafe.
Seems everyone is having animal issues.
Fabio has escalated his poor behavior over my construction activities. Yesterday he flogged me (again) by jumping at me under a cast aluminum chair. He came out of that sans one of his back toe claws. Got blood all over my pant leg and the piece of trim I had in my hands.
My cat, Mogwai, has not eaten all weekend. I've been syringing a little sugar water with B complex vitamins into her throughout the weekend to keep her from dehydrating. Now I'm waiting for the vet to open so I can get her the usual appointment for SubQ fluids, cerenia and B-complex injections to try to get her back on track. She does this several times a year. We've done blood work and there is no apparent reason for it.
She'll be 17 on June 5 so I really can't complain. She's still got her strength as she fought me good enough to get a foot out of her mummy wrap and sink a claw in my finger.
I hope everyone has a great day no matter what is on your plate today!
I was already planning to lock Dumas in the old run when I resume work on Thursday. I'll give him one of his less favorite girls to keep him company so he doesn't crow too much (I hope).I'm sorry you are having trouble with your critters! As for your kitty: when I worked at The Cat Doctor In Westerville, Ohio part of my job was client education. I taught people how to give fluids to kidney failure cats, as well as insulin and blood sugar testing, etc. Ask your vet to teach you how and send you home with a bag of fluids. I'm sure you would be able to handle it. Also get a 6ml syringe and some jars of meat baby food. Mix a little warm water and baby food into a thick soup and syringe that like your doing with the water. Its safer and less likely to aspirate your kitty. Hope she pulls through!![]()
Here is a good clip on YouTube that might help. It sometimes helps if you or a helper can hold the kitty while a second person does the fluids. The first time you do it is always the hardest. It's just a little nerve wracking, not really hard.I was already planning to lock Dumas in the old run when I resume work on Thursday. As for Mogwai, I asked for the IV fluids as well as cerenia to take home. They've also come out with a transdermal mirtazapine. It's pretty cool. You just swipe a little on the inside of her ear and it stimulates her appetite.
I've never given SQ anything. I loath and despise needles. That is why I followed in Dad's footsteps and went into Engineering instead Mom who was an RN. If Mom can't come over and help with fluids, I'll have to suck it up and do it myself.
So, yeah; he is hurting. Guess it's time to get a schedule going for his pain meds. His life will never be as long as our lives will, every day counts for him and quality of life is the only thing you can give him, but he gives you his very life. Dont let him hurt.
