You are hatching hummingbirds???!!!

A hummingbird made a nest on the mobile I have hanging on my front porch. We checked and there were 2 eggs in it. They hatched a few days ago.

does that count for the Hatch A Long??

I have yet to hear a hummer up here. I think someone said they saw one though.

Hey, wanted to give an update. My Dominique Sophie that was sick pulled through nicely, back to the flock eating and pooping.However now my Golden Comet hen Peekaboo is sick! she was overly drinking on Monday, with a pendulous crop. Brought her in and went to the University clinic Tuesday a m. They evacuated her crop and did crop and fecal Grams stain. It indicated clostridium rods. Did piprocillan I M every 6 hours for 24 hrs, then switched to oral clavamox every 8 hours for 10 days. (she hates me now.)

Now she is pooping a more normal consistancy but no appetite today, crop still very slow and still inside with the heat lamp.Otherwise is bright and active. Currently having a recess in the back yard with her flock.

I, on the other hand am depressed and very concerned. Tending to cocoon and keep to myself through the trouble times. Thank you for all the kindness and concern for me and mine.

I'm so sorry, Becca. It does seem to pour when it rains for you.
What was Sophie's diagnosis? Did she have the same symptoms that Peekaboo is now having? I'm sorry, I don't remember all the details.
