BYC Café

Many, many years ago I baked for a living. We always froze all our cakes before frosting. Eliminated the chance of tearing apart.

room, get out the parfait cups, or champagne glasses, small coffee cups....Add a little whipped cream, then some of the crumbled cake, then a little more whipped cream, then more cake in each of the cups/glasses as individual servings. It looks pretty, and as if you intentionally smooshed up the cake.

Both brilliant ideas!!! :clapI'm definitely keeping these in my cache of tricks for any future 'Julia Child: Baking in the Twilight Zone' episodes.

My friends came. I made them park outside of my property & soaked the soles of their shoes in Lysol before they could come thru the gate. They dont have chickens & I'm sure they think I'm insane, but we've been friends since the 2nd grade & this is probably not the weirdest thing I've made them do. We had a huge laugh over the mutant cake, but ate it anyway & it was delicious. Lots of leftovers, so help yourselves.

I'm calling BS on the whole Spring/Summer thing! Stay safe everyone!
Here is our latest and greatest:
..Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 8 to
16 inches possible with up to 20 inches in some mountain
areas. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

:thOh geeze! :he

Good morning Cafe.
Thanks for posting that article, @Shadrach. I enjoyed it. I, too, couldn't access it on the link you provided.
@Mtn Margie, I don't know how you deal with snow this late in the year. I couldn't take it. You, too, @N F C!
Seems we can't get a break from the constant rain here. I got the lawn tractor stuck in the mud yet again yesterday as I was racing around the property trying to get the grass cut before another storm unloaded. My lawn literally has algae growing in the ponds that won't dry up.
I finally broke down and took Fuji in for that surgery I talked about last winter. I had changed my mind the day of her surgery the last time it was scheduled. I didn't today.
She's been admitted. I found a second small MCT on her chest wall in addition to the one at her tail base. I had the Dr. order a vial of Vetalog to inject in both tumor excision sites to hopefully prevent recurrence. We are now up to 6 MCTs removed from this little dog over the last 6.5 years. So I'll be on pins and needles the rest of the day worrying about her.

I'm sorry you have to wait until August to get this handled. :hugs I understand the worry. I'm bringing my beloved Meatball in tomorrow morning for a full dental extraction. I've put the surgery off because pugs don't do well with anesthesia & Meaty has had reactions to everything the vets have ever given him. His teeth are infected & if I put it off any longer he will go septic. The vet flat out told me, "If you do the surgery, he might die. If you don't do the surgery he will die." The vet knows I don't do my dental work thru them, so its not like she was trying to upsell me anything. She was giving it to me straight & I'm a stressed mess! I've been surrounded by animals my whole life & I've adored everyone of them with my whole heart. Meaty trumps them all. He's been my constant companion these past 12yrs, never leaving my side & is the love of my life. Any good thoughts, prayers, &/or positive energy you might want to throw his way would be greatly appreciated! :hugs

Poor Meaty!! I really hope everything works out with his full extraction. That sounds terrible. :fl:fl

Thanks! :hugs We've had a full extraction on one of our other pugs 'The Fanged Monkey' (their teeth are not lined up like a normal K9 & are notorious for going bad.) It was a difficult recovery for Fang & he had the benefit of being younger & didn't have the mental/physical issues that Meaty does.

I cant help feeling like I'm driving him to the gallows tomorrow. :hit I'm realizing that if an eternal optimist steps onto the side of pessimism, it will feel like living in a darkness so black that not even the brightest light will be able to penetrate. :( I'm probably bumming you guys out… I'm sorry.

...Many apologies for bringing the café down. Its not in my nature to be such drag. I'm going to go shove my head into a large piece of mutant cake & make a fresh pot of coffee. Sugar & caffeine can cure all. :old

You guys are the best! Thanks! :hugs:hugs:hugs
It is fine!
