I read recently that you should eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch, and a pauper for dinner, or something to that effect. I might be getting the phrases wrong. But the idea is that if you eat a lot in the morning, you have all day to work it off as opposed to eating a lot at night. Most people do just the opposite of that haha I admit I am very guilty of it myself and most days don’t even eat breakfast  often I only eat once a day then just snack a bunch in between because I eat so late  but I’ve been trying to eat breakfast more. Not just because of that but I also get kinda physically sick as it gets later in the day and I still haven’t eaten by 2 or 3 ha and then I am starved and eat junk. So I am trying to be better. Now, I need to be better about actually making it be breakfast and not brunch at like 11, 11:30 but still  and clearly I did not follow the pauper thing for dinner either with that and with a muffin as a snack several hours after at like 10  but it is some progress at least hah
A good breakfast does set the tone for the day. It does not have to be too involved and is worth the extra time in the morning.

I am not a morning eater, it has to be light. I keep grapes and berries in the fridge and I'll take out maybe 10 or so, depends on size, and eat them first thing while I get the coffee going. If you keep it easy, no prep just reach in and grab and go, you'll find your stomach will actually grumble for food in a short time and then you might take the time to cook more for yourself because you actually want to eat.

That first little something in the morning jump starts your metabolism for the day.

Dani update: We just got back from the vet's, and after a thorough physical, and numerous X rays this is what we know. Her heart and lungs appear to be fine, but there is a grapefruit sized mass on her spleen. Blood was drawn for a complete screening - we had background blood drawn for comparison two or three years ago. If blood work indicates no major problems next visit is to a radiological internist for a search for any metastasized tumors. If she appears clear we will have her spleen/tumor removed and go from there. We went through the same thing with our last golden, Livvie, and bought her another 1.5 years of good health. Whether or not this had anything to do with her last episode ? ? ? Right now she thinks that nothing is wrong with her, but we know better. From here on it is all about what is best for her - not for us.

Realistically this is no big surprise.
Sorry Sour, it is always hard watching them decline. Hugs

Yeah I definitely agree!! And it doesn’t usually take too long. I’ve been making eggs and cooking up some greens and it takes like 5, 10 minutes. Definitely worth it haha

That is a good idea. I may have to try that sometime. Although I’m usually already hungry right away. I can eat anytime, anywhere. :lau

Although I have noticed that usually when I eat breakfast, I’m starving within just a short time but yet when I don’t eat anything, I could go like all day. Not that I do but sometimes I just don’t notice it cause I’m not hungry.
