We lost a giant pine in our yard years ago to the beetle. It went from fine to dead in a blink. We had to rush tree people out here to get it out because we feared it would fall on the neighbors house. Talk about your unexpected expenses.

Grrr lost one of my older guinea keets. It just up and disappeared. It got out of the run somehow. Hopefully it shows back up.

One of my Quail broke it's neck this morning. I did process it though so it is not wasted!
Thanks for that. I get so upset when I lose one. I’ll have to go look through the woods later. If it got in there something was bound to get it. Last two adult guineas that went in their were devoured. All I found was feathers. They are the hardest to get back into the coop.

Interesting. Never have tried a quail egg! Just finally tried a (small) bite of goose egg the other day. Not sure why I can't wrap my head around eating anything but chicken eggs
