BYC Café

I don't think that sounds mean at all Dobie. You need time to refresh and enjoy yourself.
Thanks, Debby.
Speaking of enjoying myself, it's time for a second attempt at running the dogs while DH sleeps. I'll grab a cup of coffee to go and talk to you all later.
Have a great day, Café.

Good morning, Café, and thanks Shad. Just having a quick cup before I hustle out to work some dogs, buy/spread mulch, mow lawn.

Oh I'm not going with him! That would not be a vacation for me. It may sound mean but I just have to get away from him from time to time. It takes a lot to act like you are answering his questions as if you are hearing them for the first time instead of the hundredth. And that goes on all day long, day after day. He doesn't even really understand what is going on with the division of my company that I work in being sold and shutdown.

Common sense and logic is not to be interpreted as 'mean'. When dealing with this, it is essential to take care of the caretaker - YOU. :hugs As I have mentioned both of my BIL dealt with this. Surprisingly the 'evil' sister handled it best. The older was destroying herself and not handling things well at all. Thankfully both have kids who stepped up and helped.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! It is 48F outside and everything is still soaking wet from the rain and hail we got last evening.
DL, I am glad the first part went well and they should be able to schedule both for the next time. You would think they would know...
Penny, I hope you find something that fits in your flock.
I can't believe it is Aug and also Sat., but Aug? I have work to do! Have a wonderful day!

I can't believe it's just after 0600 and my clothes are soaked with sweat already. All I did was water and clean up the coop. We have heat warnings through Monday and Margie is getting sweatshirt weather in August. Crazy!

I bought a second hose for the backyard yesterday...now I have one I can leave hooked up to the mister/use just for the side yard and my 100 footer for the rest of the yard. I like to leave the pressure nozzle on it so I can shoot pigeons at my convenience.

I was supposed to have a house full of kids this morning but I'm kind of glad that isn't going to happen. My pantry is worse off than old Mother Hubbards right now.

@DobieLover I don't think you sound mean. I've seen my FIL struggle with caring for his parents and finally had to get some help. He was already retired but it was taking a toll on him. Good for you that you're getting a break :hugs

The vet was impressed with how well Frank behaves yesterday. He said the growth is likely nothing, maybe something in the wart family. If it doesn't fall off by labor day we can take him in to have it removed and probably just needs a local. We can have it biopsied if we want but they're usually benign. I feel much better about that!

Sorry for the novel, I'm off to do the things...have a great day all :frow

I don't think I'm being mean but others have suggested such. I think I'm protecting my sanity!

Thanks, Margie. They said the pharmaceutical company wanted things done of different days. The clinic is going to explain my situation and ask for an exception. What difference does it make if the dentist examines his mouth and he then has an MRI? :idunno

I'm really looking forward to it. The nutty thing is, he went to spend a weekend with his family last summer. I really enjoyed the alone time but I missed him so bad I cried every night when I went to bed. I expect I'll have the same thing happen again but he'll be gone longer this time.

Good morning Margie, don't work too hard today! Be safe.

Tonya, I took care of my dad the last years of his life, he had dementia towards the end and it can be very frustrating.
It's not mean to think about your own sanity...you have to make your own time away from the constant care or you will go crazy. My 'good' brother would come down pretty often to watch our dad, (my other siblings could care less) while I could go and recharge myself. Getting away from it, just for a little bit, does wonders for your spirit. The hardest part is realizing that 'this is the best day their going to have'...hopefully the new drugs they want to test are going to help...they didn't have anything like this when I was taking care of my dad. No one can understand what it's like until you have to 'take care of a parent'...even with all I went through I would still rather have him around than not. Sending my prayers and thoughts! :hugs

Thanks, Sean.
I sometimes wonder if it's even worse when you are taking care of your partner. We have so much in common and did so much together. We still enjoy doing things together, but building things together has obviously stopped. And I have so much left to do...
