Oh dear, that doesn't sound like any fun at all! Glad you made it safe and sound!Hi Meg!
Those 60+ mph winds are what I was driving home through yesterday...no fun!
Sounds like that inch of snow will probably be gone soon. I'm sure you'll get enough to make up for that yet this winter
Hope you have a good day!
Reading this reminded me of a completely useless bit of information. In the UK, those portable compactors are called Whacker Plates. Thanks for the fresh pot of coffee, @N F C . I'll have a cup.
Sounds pretty windy west of the Mississippi.
Thankfully, it's a beautiful sunny day so I'll get no arguments renting the compactor. I just got a haircut and DH is in the chair now. Then we'll get the compactor. Still texting around trying to find someone to help unload and reload it.
They are saying that here.Oh dear, that doesn't sound like any fun at all! Glad you made it safe and sound!
Everyone keeps saying it supposed to be a rough winter...I guess we'll see![]()
They are saying that here.
Rough here tends to mean lots of water rather than freezing temperatures. Even with the sudden downpours that come with the storms here that may not last more than a few minutes we get landslides.
There are already four or five 2 to 3 cubic meter small slides at the back of the main house car port. A serious slide there will take out the back wall of the car port.
Seven took part. All Catalan with varied levels of English. What criteria will your club use to judge the sites? Enjoy your meeting!
Not really. It is feasible for one of the terraces above and to one side might give way. Even then I don't think enough soil would reach the roof and overload it.Any danger to your house with slides?
Well, I might take the rain, but not the landslidesThey are saying that here.

Backyard Chickens.
Four classes.
Media
Articles
Usefulness
Medical
Poultry keeper came first in every class except media
Backyard Chickens came last in every class except media where it came first.
The club found Poultry Keeper much easier to navigate and thought the articles relevant to the topic easy to find.
All seven found threads confusing and largely irrelevant.
The Poultry site was liked, but it was considered to be aimed at large scale meat and egg producers.
It was interesting. These people don't use the Internet for animal problems in general.
Some have books on their animals. Some have family notes, like a diary of what was done to who and when. I wished my Catalan was better because there are some gems in there I'm sure.
Amusing is there are two members around my age who get quite heated about women keeping chickens.
Surprisingly the 'pet' view of chickens that you find on most sites wasn't at all a problem for any. Two of the members I know have the chickens wandering into their kitchen like me and other can remember their parents having various animals wander around the house.
Many of the old farmhouses are laid out with kitchen and toilet (if there was one) on the ground floor. Bedrooms and living rooms middle floor and an open attic for storage.
