I'll take a cup. I have night chores too. I found a bit of blood in the coop this morning. Where Fabio was perched on the edge of the poop board last night very near Captain and on the roost that I moved Fabio to. He must have been going after Cap at roost time and either broke off a nail, broke another toe or maybe damaged a pin feather in his leg.I've done the unthinkable and made a pot of coffee. I've got stuff to do in the dark and I'm hoping extra coffee might keep me alert.
The less I drink the better, so help yourselves.
You can see the blood on the poop board edge in the bottom right corner. There is a blood stain on the roost parallel to the 8 ft wall too.
My day is just starting up & I have a coop to clean.
I had the coop built so all I have to do is rake the mulch straight into the coop run, then all I have to do is replace the mulch under the roosts. I do a deep clean about twice a year but every other day I do a quick changeover. It only takes this long because I have *help*.
It helps I live in a climate that doesn't necessitate a lot of extras for winter.
