We continue to get a abundance of rain but, now the weatherman is saying lows in 20F-30's and that white stuff in the forecast. May dig out a pair of boots while I'm deciding
which coat/jacket to release from the winter closet.

THAT should take care of the rattlesnakes we don't have around here.

Sounds good. I didn't want cleaning to become a PITA so I insisted everything be as accessible as possible & as easy as possible. My rake will reach my back wall without me actually having to get into the coop itself. My only real beef is I can't stand upright ~ which all chicken owners know is a real pain if you have to deal with a chicken but space restrictions & height restrictions meant we had to choose one of 2 evils. I went with a completely open front & elevated so the girls could use the space underneath. I have had to put a curtain up to deal with some of the winter weather [I do have doors we just never hung them & I'm not sure we need them.] but the girls can self regulate & that's good on days we are pushed for time & boats.

I can't stand in any of the coops here either but they are small enough to be able manage without getting in. I can and have climbed into one in particular and spent the night in it on a couple of occasions. All in aid of study I might add.

Yeah, I can get in, if I absolutely have to & there's plenty of space. I just can't stand upright which is a little awkward & I have to watch for the screws my man forgot to shear off! On our *to do* list but as that's quite long...

It's true! I wanted to see which ones tucked their heads under their wings when they slept. They didn't seem at all bothered by me being there. It's not something I recommend doing on a regular basis.

This is true, but I don't own such a thing and I can't afford to buy one.
