@Shadrach , that isn't a senior task. That is just a very nicely planned day.

@sourland , around here it's me waiting for DH to get ready. Of course the AD has slowed him down but I've always done the waiting for him. Have fun at the game and good luck to the boys.

Nothing particularly earth shattering planned here today. Do some shopping and start working on the automatic door for the run to the pen. I plan to install a receptacle on the exterior coop wall so I can plug in some heated dog bowls for water and fermented feed.
I also want a flood light for the run that is powered with a timer switch so it will shut off after a fixed time... say after the sun rises. I have to fill the feed troughs in the dark before I go to work and I like to clean the poop boards first thing after the birds come off the roost before they have time to really trample the poop into the sand/PDZ so that means they all have to come out to the run before sun up during winter. Hence, I need a light that stays on until after sunrise.

Dobie, are you guys seeing any winter weather in your forecast? It just seems up in the NE you would be getting colder about now

Not yet. It's all autumn weather. Quite nice actually.
We are in peak foliage color right now.

Not so much. Most people head to Watkins Glen or Ithaca to any of the State parks there. I'm actually toying with the idea of some hiking in Ithaca today. It's beautiful outside and we were supposed to get rain today. Now the forecast has it falling tomorrow instead.

Beautiful day for baseball. Mid 40's and sunny to start and mid 60's by the time the games were over. Boys tied the first game 3/3 and won the second 8/0. Grandson said, "See you tomorrow, Pa." I informed him that a grandfather's loyalty only goes so far - if it is raining tomorrow I'm staying in bed.
