Good morning, Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Shad. I love the chair. I'll have to try using your wood preservation technique the next time I find an older piece to restore.

It's 9F this morning again. And the sliding deck door is frozen shut again.
DH has a haircut today then we spend the rest of the day cleaning the house. His son and his family will be visiting tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing them. DHs grand-daughters are in love with the chickens the flock has changed dramatically since their last visit so I will need to be here for them to visit the birds.

Have a nice visit! I am still working on getting what I need for Christmas Dinner. Walmart was picked clean today. They did not even have molasses

My solstice food will be;
A bit of chicken with cranberry sauce,
A slice of my special nut roast,
Cauliflower cheese,
Brussels sprouts (assuming the green grocer has saved me some).
Roast potatoes,
Fresh asparagus in a butter and lemon source.

I've been looking for a proper Christmas pudding but no luck yet.
I do have a rather nice marzipan stollen cake.

I feel I ought to point out in case anyone noticed that the word 'stollen' was misspelt.
I've corrected it. I wouldn't want anyone thinking I go shopping and steal cakes.

The Princess went to town to pick up the subs, and she got sideswiped. They exchanged insurance information, but she did not call the police. I dare not say a thing.

Here we have to report to police if the damage is over I think $700.00

Speaking of nowadays, we went out to eat at Roadhouse Steakhouse - I supplied the gift card. Always loved the place. My son wanted his steak medium well. I wanted mine medium rare (old folks aren't supposed to ingest rare meat because they are so close too death anyway.)

He ended up with the rare steak and wouldn't eat it. I would have but, he had bits and pieces he tried and I didn't want to follow up. My baked potato was hard as a rock. The corn with their sauce was delicious as usual. All I know is I have had a bad stomach ache since eating there and all this morning. Think I will stick to Arby's from now on.

It makes me sad to go to restaurants and the food in not as good as what I make at home!

yup have learned that now went to Morton for dinner little cafe we started going to
was bit disappointed I ordered a ham steak dinner they only had brown gravy

Just stopping by to say hi. We nearly hit 50° today, but it was humid so it felt a bit chilly to me. But then I am a bit under the weather, so that may be part of it. Hope everyone else is well and will have a super holiday.

That sounds like our Walmart...even when it isn't close to a holiday

I think they know what's on my list when I walk in and hide at least 3 items out of 10.

Thanks, Deb. I am nearly done the antibiotics for my sinus and ear infections, but now I think it's a virus giving me grief. Don't feel like doing anything.
