BYC Café

All mine have loved the company of other dogs.
I have mentioned Bella's obsession with Mogwai, our cat. Last night she play bowed and barked at Mogwai she was so desperate to get her attention. She really wants to be friends with Mogwai.

I have all mixed breed dogs and one purebred beagle. I have always allowed my dogs to choose me. Most I randomly found through the vet or friends who knew I like rescue pups. I'm a rescuer at heart I guess.

If I ever ran across a dobie in need, I would be sure to add it to my pack.

I can't tell the Princess this. Today at TSC I met a couple with two 12 week old Belgian Shepherds. I ended up talking with the owners and playing with the pups for half an hour. The owners said that's why they were there for socialization. The male was outgoing and friendly. His sister was very aloof and studied me for the longest while before making contact. They both decided that I was okay. When I saw the male picking out his toy to buy it reminded me of Dani and her love of shopping.

So Sour, when are you bringing one of those dogs home with you? :pop

Do you guys get proper winters there, Bruce?
I guess it depends on the definition of "proper" ;)
If it includes below (sometimes well below) 0°F temperatures and snow then yes, we do.

I can go, or could before Brexit, go to any European country to work and live.
Will Brexit affect your ability to remain in Spain?

The bristle bird is one. There are only 3 known colonies & 2 are under threat of fire. It is going to take years to recover & some places never may. One township got completely wiped off the map. Nothing left standing.
That video was downright scary. I wish someone could do a functional rain dance.

The solution is to use shutters like most Mediterranean house use and block the sun, but then you lose the light as well.
Do you have, or could you have, an arbor on that side of the house? You could cut some of the sun without losing all the light. I gather you designed and had built, or built the house, yourself? I'd love to see pictures.

I’d be afraid to wear that out in public.
Might depend on where you go. I wouldn't know a Rolex from a Timex. I would guess your average pickpocket wouldn't either.

Yes!! SIX!!!! :wee
Might as well make it an even dozen, maybe even a baker's dozen.

You mean he wasn't in the bathroom with you? Clearly NOT a Doberman. When you own a Dobie you never pee alone.
That could get awfully crowded with a number of Dobies in the family.

Then yes we have winter! Foliage season is generally the last 2 weeks of September, first 2 of October. Somewhere in there it goes below freezing a few times then warms up for about a week: "Indian Summer". That is the kick in the pants that says "You better get things winterized, this is your ONE chance.

USUALLY we will see a little snow in late September and in October though it doesn't stick around. Didn't see any until December this year, super unusual. It is hanging around freezing currently, I think that is unusually warm for early January. Another USUALLY: we have a fair bit of cold then the "January thaw" where it goes above freezing for over 24 hours. That can be any time in January, early, mid, late. Following that we freeze our butts off as the temp dives well below 0°F. Plenty of single digits to negative temps well into February then it slowly warms up again. We always still see snow in March, often into April, on rare occasion in May. Spring really doesn't start until early May when the leaves on the trees finally come out.
