The last of the two hens I sold went to live with Sarge and his new girls last night.
The coop seems empty. Kerrie is doing her part to put the numbers back up there but I am hoping Astrid goes broody again, too. I broke her three times last year. She deserves her chance to be a mom.

A bit hazy here today, but still very pleasant, with green bursting out all over the place and a variety of delicious scents wafting around the garden in the very light breeze. I love springtime. And some of my sowings are popping their heads above the compost

I think this situation is being rough on most of us, even if we are independent and not super social to begin with.
Thanks for the coffee, Shad. We have about 7 inches of snow and still snowing and it is cold out there. That is the worst.
Time for a refill!

Looked out the window and the cows had escaped from the barn to the bird yard, which is also the orchard. Three trees with broken branches, one's pretty bad and the others are just little ones. Definitely could've been worse! Dirty buggers.

Hamburgers and steak on the menu for Meg, to go with the delicious-looking cake. LOL!
I am making monkey bread and lamb chops. It is still snowing and we are pushing a foot of it. The bobcat tracks from the morning are just about gone.

Monkey bread AND lamb chops?!?!? Count me in! Now if I can just snowshoe that far

Our snow is still coming down but we won't have near what you have Margie. But wow, is it bitter cold outside...we're "up" to 16* now.
