BYC Café

One of the main house occupants, the person who owns the property in this case, who had some deluded idea of having a smallholding and producing their own food has been making what he tells me are raised beds.
Yes I did try to explain and no he doesn't seem to understand.
Kind of sad really. Still, it got him out of the house for a bit.
Don't ask. I have absolutely no idea what he was thinking and yes they are finished.

🤣 Where exactly is the raised part?

This is true. There does come a point where someone is so separated from what is generally accepted as reality that they are either an imbecile, or sick. The idea that we all live in our own realities is fine, but there must be a consensus point. I have my doubts that two of the people that live here meet that consensus on sufficient topics to be considered as playing with a full deck. Of course, up here in the mountains not only do people not see, they don't care either. I have to deal with this on a daily basis.
the phrase 'yes dear' comes to mind... have you tried uttering it and then forgetting the entire conversation? if they're really doolally, they won't remember what they said either :D

You don't want to go there with these people.
You just end up getting a long and involved nonsensical monologue about purpose and reality and more often than not, a whole new standard in word definition.
I still live in the world where particular words have a definite meaning. I find it helps everybody understand what they are talking about. I realise it has become fasionable to just open ones mouth and let a stream of complete bollocks pour out and the explanation is that people are involved in subtle forms of communication when doing this, but I find I walk away none the wiser. Maybe I'm just not sensitive enough.:p
So, in the case above raised doesn't have any reference to a physical level, the raising is a mental construct........

They don't remember what they've said anyway. And, should you remind them, they'll deny saying it. It's one of the problems of have ones mouth constantly open making noises.
I have tried a version of the 'yes dear' but in order for this place to function at all, they need to make decisions that are at least rational, if not economically viable.

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. I can't recommend it this morning. I tried a packet of a different blend assuming that my normal blend will not be available when the reserves run out. A grave error on my part because frankly the stuff is shite.:(
Still, it's the thought that counts, or so some half-wit said at some point.
Warm and sunny here. Likely to be hot and humid around mid day.
The chickens have already headed for their favorite shade spots; unfortunately I'm headed to town.
