When I did head count at lock up, I was short one chick. I found Malcolm dead in the run. He was fine when I left today. I have no idea what happened to him. I inspected his body and couldn't find any wounds. He was cold and stiff so I don't know if his neck was broken. So sad.

I wish I knew what happened to him. He was going to be a handsome guy.
I just don't know if I need to be concerned about the rest of the chicks. Like do I have some wacko rogue hen out there that killed him. That Veronica isn't playing with a full deck. I think I would have seen damage to him. Poor little guy.

Check for a peck to the head if you have suspicions regarding a hen killing the chick.

Coffee is made. Tea bags. milk and sugar are on the counter.
Sunny atm but not forecast to last.
Trying to get Treacle fit today. I think he ate something he shouldn't have the day before yesterday. I've flushed him out a few times now and this morning he is almost back to his normal noisy self.
