BYC Café

DH is the youngest of 7. He has 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
I just got a call from DHs middle brother. His youngest brother died this morning.
I didn't even know he'd been in the hospital.
No one calls me to keep me up to date on family issues and if they talk to DH, he doesn't remember anything to tell me. Not even that they called at all.
I knew that something had happened to his brother. They at first thought it was a stroke but it turned out not to be the case. He was home and having speech difficulty. I was quite shocked and now I've got to tell DH. It'll have to wait until I get home.
Oh dear, it just seems to go on and on... I am very sorry for both of you.

Sorry missed that.
Better to know than not tho?
Every year there will be some rather poorly wild birds dying of whatever viruses are around at this time of year, and of course some avian influenza viruses will be among them.

For robust and healthy chickens this usually does not represent a serious danger.

For the last 10 years it was mostly only the factory poultry farming stocks with their overcroweded and stressed out genetically deprived birds that contracted the virus and they even got caught on camera, it being their own vets and personnel (forage and feed master) that carried the virus from one poultry farm to the other by not following the mandatory bio-security protocol and skipping the change of protective clothing and use of the disinfectant mats.

Same thing happened here few years ago....resulting in the depopulation of many BY flocks.
